"Sometimes reality is greater than our expectations." ((If this is your first time visiting, please read the very 1st journal entry..and note that Ethan's was diagnosed with Potters Syndrome/Multicystic Dysplastic Kidney Disease Bilateral, not the polycystic that is noted. )

With the retirement of one of the most wonderful doctors in Ethan's life,(Dr Karen Higgins), and the fact that he just celebrated his 16th birthday,I am heavily prompted to take a look back from the beginning of our journey, and this site is where I put special moments, tears, and have read beautiful words that helped us put one foot in front of the other some days.

Ethan is a freshman, and just like any 16 year old boy he likes sports and girls and he doesn't like homework and school. The air embolism that he sustained back in 2005 continues to remind us that it is the biggest challenge we have. His Kidney...still rocks like a wagon wheel.

We found that the people we thought were one of our biggest advocates, were not. If you have heard about Ethan through Brian or Teresa Ruzicka, please know that they are evil people and will have no knowledge of what his life is like now.

Our lives have changed, but one thing remains the same and that is that we know Ethan was given to us, because we were and are exactly what he needs on this earth.
